About Rosalie
WITH KEEN CREATIVE VISION AND AN IMPECCABLE EYE FOR DETAIL, ROSALIE SZILAGYI HAS DELIGHTED A WIDE ARRAY OF DISCERNING CLIENTELE.
Born and raised on the upper west side of Manhattan, “Custom” is at the core of Ms. Szilagyi’s approach.
Ms. Szilagyi’s great grandfather, grandfather and sister were developers and builders in Europe. Her father was a bootmaker and specialized in custom figure skates for Olympic skaters. Rosalie delighted in designing shoes which her father would craft for her. Her father was also a purveyor of fine art at one of Manhattan’s most prestigious galleries.
Her brother, a Cornell trained architect, worked for Richard Meier and Gwathmey/Siegel in NYC. The homes of the Hamptons he designed helped inspire her appreciation for minimalist modernism.
In summary, Rosalie’s rich family heritage of building, art, design and architecture have passed through many generations. Her aptitude for 3-dimensional thinking, her understanding of space, light and texture is her gift to the world of design.
Since launching her firm in 2001 her projects have offered a variety of regional influences. The fabric of American landscape has emerged through her projects in NYC, North Carolina, Indiana, Florida and the Rocky Mountain region.
Ms. Szilagyi personally selects only a few projects to curate each year.
Throughout her career, she has used her artistic abilities to craft comfortable and unique living spaces that have earned her high acclaim by the design community. Ms. Szilagyi often draws upon her many years in the world of high fashion, which have taken her from the United States to Europe, working for such couture lines as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Paloma Picasso and Adrienne Vittadini, among others.
Around the World Design Experience
Equally at ease with a number of design genres, she skillfully fuses diverse textures and materials to provide innovative design solutions for private residences, commercial spaces and hospitality projects.

She has worked for such couture lines as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Paloma Picasso and Adrienne Vittadini, among others. After studying marketing and retail at the prestigious New York University, she was accepted into the coveted Saks Fifth Avenue Buyer Program.
